Camping is a great way to spend some leisure time. You could go with family, friends or even yourself (if you are careful). Tents: You won’t be near any 5 star resorts, so bring a tent. It will keep you safe from the weather and nature. Pick a tent that you know how to put together. Make sure your tent is large enough to house yourself and anyone that may be coming with you.
Food: You could try hunting and fishing, but make sure you have a backup plan. Some campgrounds frown upon hunting in the thought of keeping the other campers safe. Bring yummy things to eat that aren’t easily perishable. Dried fruits, nuts, canned food as well as plenty of liquid. If you want to bring foods that need to be cooked, plan on having a way to cook them!
First Aid Kit: Bring a first aid it. You never know what will happen while you are camping and you will want to be prepared. You may fall and cut yourself while hiking, or even encounter a skunk or poison ivy. Good first aid kit items include, band-aids, rubbing alcohol, sunblock, Asprin and any other medications that you may be taking regularly.
Flashlights: Bring several flashlights. There are no lights in the wilderness for you to turn on when you need light. You won’t be able to pick up your campfire and bring it with you wherever you want to go. You will have to bring your own source of light. Remember that flashlights run on batteries and you may run out. Don’t be caught with a dead flashlight!
